In the future, I would like to get a larger tank, still researching on how to setup them. So i'm wondering how people do water changes with large tanks like these in their basement. Where do you put the dirty water after? A sink, the sump(not fish tank), bring it outside from a long tube?

At my old house I had it drain to the sump in cold weather and pumped it to the flower beds in the warmer months.
I also did this, pumped old water to garden and yard in warmer months, with semi permanent PVC lines.
.
I also use water change water to flush toilets, or in the dead of winter to laundry tubs, and into the sewers.
Almost always use water twice.
Sometimes to rain barrels that connected to ponds, where foliage ate up the nutrients.

For my 220 when I plumbed the return pump from the sump I installed a Tee with a valve and ran the line outside.
So when it’s time to do a water change I close the valve to the tank and open the valve to outside.

Being from the uk our gardens don't exactly go short of water! So mine just goes to the drain. If I lived in a dryer climate though I would definitely rig something up where the garden benefitted from the old fish tank water.

I do not have my tanks in the basement as you asked about but I believe that I can help.
I bought a very large pump a while ago with intentions of using it for water changes. I can’t yet but I will once I upgrade
This is it

I got the 4250 gallons per hour model.
If you have the money then I would recommend it. It empties a 75 gallon in mere seconds however, it’s so strong that it could suck a fish in and kill them so you would have to address that issue. I have no doubt that this pump could pump the water up the basement and outside.

How would you refill it? Hose I assume, but into tank or sump?
