the other day someone told me that they do straight cold water changes. they said using hot water is bad for the fish.(even if the tempature is correct) i mean i have done it forever and i dont think its ever affected me. but i was just wondering if there was any truth behind it.

I usually just use cold water.
The only thing I can think about is pH and Hardness. I live just above LA County and the water is hard and the pH is around 8. I don't think LA would be much different. So depending on what you have...becareful with the water changes. As for temperature...I just have some 5g jugs that I fill and let sit indoors until the next water change.
