Hello everyone- I am new to this site

I have recently got back into fish-keeping with a couple of oscars and a common pleco.

However I would love a red tailed catfish.

As you can see, I am going to buy a 4000l "baby" tank for the RTC, however this will involve massive water changes.

Is there any way in which the water taken from the tank could be recycled and put back into the tank?

This would save a great deal on the water bill!

If anyone else has been in the same situation and found a good solution I would love to hear from you- thanks x

I don't have a tank as large as your beauty, but I got a 1000 litre one.. And I know what you mean. Do you have access to a borehole? I change 400 litres a week, just a pipe draining it straight out the window, and a hose pipe pumping from the borehole after. Provides all the minerals needed and fresh water, at no cost apart from the electricity for the pump. Other than this I really don't have any other ideas for you, maybe someone else will.
