So I descided to move my 55(soon to be 90) downstairs in the basement. I really like the tank down here. The room it was in before was bright and algea was a constant problem. Plus the traffic made the fish skittish and the bright lights, I could barely see the tank. In the basement it's quite, nice and dark, and I can watch my fish tank in peace.

But... Water changes have become unbearable! Since there is no sink in the basement the python won't reach and I have had to resort to lugging buckets up and down stairs. Not fun... Large water changes are a must so I have to do 50% weekly. Is there an easier way to do this? I have heard people use drip systems. How hard would it be to setup if I could? Any comments?

Yeah but would it work up a flight of stairs. I tried it and it didn't work. There isn't enough suction.

Like he said get a long hose. Or if your washing machine is in your basement you could probably disconnect it and screw in a normal garden hose right into your main water line. There should be a shut-off valve right above the tap which makes this really easy. It would be tricky getting the temp right though as you will only be able to screw into hot or cold. There should also be a drain in your basement either in a bathroom ie. a shower, or a sump pit that you could siphon water out of your tank into.

If there is a window in the basement, use pump to blow up water. Then fill with python through sink, thats what i use for my downstairs.

My dad does that for his 75 gal. He has to be careful cause his pump hauls ***. It drains the tank in less than 5 minutes.

just go to homedepot buy hose they come in 10ft rolls i got 2 rolls and 2 univ coupings add it to your python and its cheap to buy i'll post pics in the morning for you...
