sorry guys new here not always sure how to frase questions when do you change water or how often once a month every couple of weeks i heard once a month some poeple told me once every couple months. the fish i plan to get are roughly 2 - 4 in in lenth. 75 gal tank 2 110 filters live plants didnt get plants yet but will do this week. thanks

depends on stock, usually 50% once a week is what you should be doing

I change about 20%-25% weekly in my 120gal african tank. keeps my nitrates below 20ppm so thats good enough for me

We would really need more info to answer your question well. Is it 2 to 4 inch fish or is it two 4 inch fish? What kinda fish are these fish? What kinda feeding schedule will they be on? What media are you using in the filters? How long has the tank been setup? Whats the current water parameters?

I wait for 2 things to happen before I do a WC.

1. Nitrates 40ppm or more. I try to keep it under 40.
-OR-
2. WC every 3 weeks if it doesn't hit 40ppm or more. There's other things in the water to worry about than just nitrates.

My tanks are moderately to heavily stocked so I just do 50% WC. It's usually get's done every week. For the smaller less stocked tanks it's usually 2 weeks

That's how I do it.

You should be more specific on your tank stock. 2-4" fish could mean one 2" fish, or it could mean 10 4" fish...
Anyways I like doing 50%/week. If you're going to do the w/c, might as well change more water volume while you're at it :P

Make sure you use water conditioner/dechlorinator when refilling your tank

Check your nitrate level.
That is what water change is mainly about
