I have a 210 gallon tank which would fit nicely in my basement.. however, how would you go about making water changes as I don't have a bathroom in my basement... I usually drained water by the gravity fed method... would anybody recommend a large garbage size container and use a sump pump to pump that water out from there upstairs? Suggestions?

There are windows. So that is probably a good option from there.. winter would be the only problem

Most likely you'll have water lines in the basement you can tap into to add watet. You will have to use a pump to get it out most likely. Depending on your set up you could pump into the waste line but that always seemed like a last resort to me.

If there is no way to drain it away from the basement then using a pump to pump the water up the stairs could work, only remember that if it has to go to much uphill you will require a very big pump to do so.

I drain my tank from a hose that leads to outside through my basemen t door.
