Hey guys, looking at getting my first rays, theyll be going into a 14ft indoor pond. I was just wondering how do i know how much water conditioner to put in after doing a water change. Instead of putting conditioner in could i look at setting up a system where i could run tap water through a few carbon cartidges and run it straight into the pond
Thanks

A carbon tube will work, we used to use carbon tubes to de-chlorinate water in the lab that needed to be totally pure (no added chemical ingredients like Sodium Thio). We'd use a 2ft by 1.5" tube to get a few liters per 8 hour shift, slow rate drip.
If I were you, depending on your water providers chlorine dosage, I 'd use a large PVC tower, as tall as you can to allow a faster drip, (maybe up to 6' tall by 2" diameter) filled with carbon, if the residual is high, or half that if residual is low.
You might experiment to see if the shorted tube removes the residual, and what gallon flow, and increase either height, if it doesn't remove it all.
Similar to my in style to my DIY bio-fractionator units.

Some Ray keepers have auto drip setups to do water changes.
