I don’t know how everyone else changes their water but in my heavily stocked 125 tank, I wanted water extra clean so I decided to do 30% water changes twice a week instead of once. I was getting tired of making a mess hauling over 30 gallons of water so I went to Lowes and got a 20 ft lg, 1/2in wide tube ($8.97) and attached it to my siphon cleaner. Instead of putting the other end of the tube in the bucket, I ran it out the window into the ground (gotta make sure the window isn’t higher than the tank or the suction wont work). Saves a lot of time.
Very simple tip but wanted to share. Please post if you have any other time/money saving tips.

python and soon to be auto water changer (too lazy to set it up)

Be careful, it may be illegal to siphon tank wanter into your yard. And the window can be higher than the tank, as long as the end of the hose is lower.

I've got a house water filter with two matrix carbon canisters and a prefilter coming off of a water line above my tank. Turn the water on, it overfills the tank, which overfills the sump, which overflows into the sewer. Constant, auto, whatever you want to call it.
