Well i have a problem with some fish tanks that I breed with here it is. Water hardness see Ive been breeding mollies and Im getting it prepared for different fish this next fish prefers soft then hard so i need to know how to lower water hardness in the tank.My main source was my teacher but its been so long he doesn't remember so please help me with this problem i have here.
Tank details:
size:30gal. long
filtration:30gal. power filter
Occupants:long fin blue Danios(X4)(danios are for keeping the tank sustained while Im preparing for breeding fish), and hifin leopard plecostumus

I have heard that Peat Moss in the filter would help lower the Hardness. And I believe that there are Water Softener pillows out on the market as well.

Personally, I don't stress about it too much, because the water in my area is just shy of be called rocky.... For breeding though that might be a different matter. You may even want to think about setting up another tank and running one soft, one hard instead of raising and lowering the hardness of your tank. That may cause undue stress to the other inhabitants. Good luck with it though
