Hi, could someone please explain to me why the following occurs:

When testing for water parameter if you leave it longer than you should for the color change to occur, say instead of 10min as the instructions say, you leave it for 24hrs... the color gets darker than what it normally would have been?

I'm not sure if that makes sense :P

ah.. I tend to clean up after myself cause I'm an adult.

Thanks for NOT answering the question... Perhaps you should revisited an educational institution as a mature student for English Gr.12 in regards to reading and comprehension :nilly:

Not 100% sure but I assume the indicators will continue to react to the chemical it is testing.

Those tests are made to show accurate results in X amount of time, the longer the chemical reacts with the indicator, the more intense the color.

hope this helps

Past tense? :D

But I don't know the answer to the question. But its safe to assume if the directions say to check the value/color in X mintues, then in X minutes it should be noted. Otherwise, the solution may have more time to saturate/react creating a different reading.

I'm sorry if I did not address your question
If the instructions clearly state when you should take the readings
I would discontinue your practice of waiting 24hours
as this can lead to inaccurate readings
