Water Circulation??

I have a Tig catfish and growing him out for my 180 gallon tank (hes about 6 inches ATM)..

should i get a water circulator? if so any recommendations without spending a ton. and what gph would u suggest.. Thanks so much

It depends on what you want to get out of it, if it’s a grow out tank then you could get a cheap one and if it breaks it’s not the end of the world. I would go for one about 1500 gph for a good flow

I’m running the current power heads and they sure do have a lot of bang for the buck.

well right now its a grow out tank., so id go with a smaller/cheaper one..
. but when i put him in my big tank (once he hits 10" or so).. what type of water circulator would you consider good for a tank of 180g?

I would get a good quality wave maker, with around 1700-2000 gph flow
