So I've ran into this problem on both my 75 Gallon and, 180 Gallon.
Feeding has been alittle heavier lately but, everything else has been unchanged.
I've never had problems with this before. Any advice would be lovely.
Little bit about the tanks
Both are feed with NLS pellets or Market Shrimp.

180 Gallon
Stock
1 Black Arowana 18"-20"
4 Bichirs ranging from 9" to 13"
1 True Parrot Fish 7"
Water Changes Weekly 40% or so
Filters FX5 and small Ehiem Canister don't recall which one

75 Gallon
Stock
7 Silver Dollars 2"-6"
2 Indo Dats 4"
7 Bichirs 4"-7"
Ropefish 13"
Filters 2 Cascade 1000's Canisters
Water Changes Weekly 50%

The FX5 I cleaned last week. Ehiem about 2 months ago.The cascades maybe a month ago.

I would try cleaning the Eheim and 1 of the cascades to see if it helps. How long ago did you notice this problem?

I was never a fan of canister filters if its possible for you to switch to a wet dry u will notice a huge difference

Honestly the 180 seemed to happen month ago hence why I cleaned the fx5.
The 75 just started about a week ago.

It very well may be the overfeeding. Cut back for a couple days and see if they are any better.

Also, you don't have them near any windows do you?

Both are in the basement no windows.

What is in your canister filters? As your fish grows, they do tend to produce more bio waste. So......add more bio media. That's what I would do.
