in your mind's eye
i've been using seachem prime for about ten years. i buy it in the 4 liter container and it's about empty. i went to big als online and it's $75 for the prime. since money is tight these days i'm thinking of using either amquel or novaqua conditioner for half the price ($35 and $38 for one gallon containers). will i regret it?

Do a search on Amazon.com for it :)
You will be surprised the stuff you find on their that is crazy cheap

Well, the fact that the OP used the term "liter" leaves me to believe that he/she is not in the US. And honestly I couldn't comment on Amazon's prices outside of the US.

I have used Amquel+ in the past and it does the job - I am however currently using all three that you listed as my area is experiencing flooding so the tap water is being heavily treated.

Prime is always sold and measured in liters, regardless of location.

you have to use more amquel than prime. Prime is one capful for 50gallons, and amquel is about one capful for 10gallons.

Also my experience last week: I went to my mom's house, gravel vacced and changed her water, than put in one capful of amquel plus; went out to eat, came back and all the goldfish were acting sluggish, and hanging at the bottom of the tank. Increased filter flow, and aeration, then remembered i used amquel instead of prime, so upped the dosage really quick, and the fish actually started to turn around right there on the spot after upping the dosage. I put in about four more capfuls with the original one.

so that's my experience.

thanks a lot. i didn't think about it maybe being a different dosage. thanks for the links too, really appreciate it
