just curious what people do on here to get their water ready for their tanks....
I know that chlorine wants to be in the air and not the water, so I bubble my water in 5 gallon buckets over night, some time i add some stabilizer or stress zyme to it, or even a little chlorine remover, and sometimes PH decrease depending on what the water is for. new tanks i just fill with straight tap, but i bubble the water while im filling it and add chlorine remover. get's it stired up really well. then i let the tank run over night with filters and bubbles. FS say a week to let it equalize, but i know whats in my water so i never bother with that and i have not had a problem yet.

so how do you prep your water???

I don't do anything special. I just fill it up and add water conditioner, the next day I add fish to start cycling it. I use platys, guppies and neon tetras to cycle with because they make good feeder fish when I add the fish I actually want.

I have one of those to, but it is very hard to use for the tanks. just got an inline filter kit form work. gonna set that upand use that from now on. no one else heard of the bubbling over night methiod? i thought it was a great idea when i saw it. it was on a slat water forum. i usually bubble my salt water over night to get it well mixed.

Nothing much. Just top the tank with water from the tap and add in anti-chlorine plus salt. Run the filter and if there's a need to drop the ph, blackwater or ketapang leafs will be dropped in as well.;)

when i do water changes i just put the hose in the tank and start fuiling it and add a little clorine remover. i make sure to water temp is as close to the tank temp as posible so as to minamise the stress on the fish. then add cichlid vitamins.
