My daughter spotted one of these guys at my buddies store and is in love with him, so I've decided that I'm going to pick him up would like to find out any info on them, will be going in a 180gal tank, so would like to know possible tank mates etc, thanks for any help

If you got the one at Gold aquariums your tank mates will need to be big fish. They pretty much eat anything that will fit into their mouths. They also prefer live feeder fish or frozen seafood. I had a marble water cow and couldn't get it to eat dry food so I sold it. Not to mention they are like a piece of driftwood and usually only mover periodically or when it's feeding time.

my marble will hit frozen prawn, fillet and sometimes the odd pellet, I tong feed him to make sure he gets enough.

A marble goby and water cow are two different fish. Marbles get quite a bit larger in the wild, largest I've seen in captivity isn't think 18in now. Water cows, aren't as greedy and are more diurnal, where as marbles are nocturnal. Marbles are more greedy ime, both will try to eat whatever fits in there mouth, marbles are more aggressive and also have larger teeth so hold there own better, if it's a water cow, fish like Oscars are good, not aggressive, and to big to eat, if it's a marble, I say be a little more selective cause they're more willing to try a tank mate as a snack ime. Both slow fish.

OK thanks for the info and it is deff a water cow, I'll post some pics when I get home from work

Yea pic? And just wanted to make sure, cause people get them confused often
