So one of the hoses coming from my overflow to my Sump cracked. I noticed there was alot of water between my stand and wall so I started looking for a leak. I reached behind and as I touched the cracked hose it fell off and started draining. I quickly killed all electricity but being alone it was a task trying to hold the hose under the flowing water and cutting things off. Finally got it to stop draining and replaced the hose. I cleaned and mopped up all of the water and I figured all was good. Well that was my first mistake. I started noticing there was a big hump in my hard wood floors and looked behind the tank and the base board has pulled itself from the wall. I am suspecting the weight of my 125 gallon tank and the water seeping through the hardwood has started my floor to sag. You can notice as you look at the floor that directly where the tank is it is sinking down . And now for the good news..lol. I have decided to replace my current 125 tank with a drilled tank to reduce the chance of it ever losing syphon and flooding my sump. I also have a friend that is going to help me jack my floor back up and reinforce my floor joists for just the cost of materials. My questions are should I drain my tank and move it before the floor is jacked back up and repaired? And is getting a drilled tank going to be that much safer? I will be adding a second AquaticLife 976 gph pump for the Perfecto Corner Flo tank so that would be one pump per return. The tank is rated as 700gph per overflow and the pump is about 710 gph at 6.5 foot. Am I heading in the right direction with the repairs and new tank?
