Water detector alarm

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
my dad uses them for his basement, but in almost 40 years of fishkeeping I've only had one tank leak. I'm not that worried.

Since I work for an alarm company, I have them monitored through my alarm system under all my tanks. If ever any water spills, I get an immediate notification on my cell phone and a phone call from my central station.

I have this water detector/shutoff valve for my 24/7 drip system. If the sensor detects water, the valve shuts off the incoming water line. It's mainly so if my drain line gets clogged or blocked for any reason, the system will not overflow because it shuts off the incoming water. A simple alarm would not do any good if I was out of town.

That's pretty cool to have it monitored through the alarm company and get notices.

pittom and dxdx, I like what you guys have in place! I once had a mini reef overflow just as I was leaving for a vacation, and because I live just a hundred yards or so from the Ohio River, I've had my share of flooding. Plus, I've had a couple of sewage backups over the years, so finding these water detectors was a real blessing to me. I'm gonna check out those systems you guys are using.

I have installed one on my weekend cabin, much higher end as it calls my cell if it goes off, but same idea, hey for a few bucks it cant be a bad idea
