Getting a green water dragon in a couple months but I suck at getting lighting right, can anyone help me out with what heat lamps (wattage) and uv lights I should use for a 48x18x21? He will move into a custom built tank when it's bigger though.

That tank will be only a temporary solution and you will need a much bigger setup soon. I recomend you get a 60w normal heat bulb and a quality uv bulb (zoomeds iguana ligth is a very good one). You will also need a heat pad for nigth time heat. You can also use a second heat pad to keep your lizard water basin heated which is important.
