Water fungus

Hi guys,

I recently noticed this white stuff on the walls of my tank and really wonder what it is an whether it is harmful to my fishes. My current stock's 3 young rays, one arowana and one bichir.

Not sure if it's copepods or amphipods or planaria or white fungus or something else.

It looks like the normal crap that grows on glass bacteria and fish slime. Clean it with your magnetic glass scraper before each water change and you'll be as good as new.

so this is a good shot of the thing and i found out that it's called dinobryon, a kind of golden algae

Nothing normal about white algae lol, wtf. Normal for lazy tank people sure. Whats your water readings saying for ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates.

Looks like algae to me. Not all algae is green. Sometimes I see algae clumps start looking like this and then turn colors.

My water's good, ammonia 0, nitrite 0 and nitrates 20. Got a scraper to get rid of them alrdy

yeah all my tanks get the same stuff If I dont clean the glass.

be careful with the scraper, so many people scratch there tanks with them!
