hi i need some help with my tank i have a 120gallon tank i am keeping 2 tiger oscars 2 green terrors 2 bumble bees2 black convicts 2 goldfish (large)2 plecos a jack dempsey a red devil 1 mbuna and 1 crayfish i only have 2 fullgrown fish in the tank the red devil and 1 pleco i am running a fluval fx5 with 3 120g carbon 3 150 g zero carb and a basket of biomax my levels in the tank read as follows on api test strips gh 180 max , kh 240 max, ph closest to 7.0 nitrite o-0.5 nitrate around 40 my water has been discoloring like a fog color an sometimes a greenish i have been using clearafiers but i dont want to keep adding chemicals to the water at least not all the time i use cycle 10 ml per 5g prime water conditioner 2-3 mls per 5g and and waste controll 10ml per 5g every water change i have also tried to add mor cycle to the tank itself as it cleared my tank after i first got the 55 i also have i also have 12 fish and a cray in my 55 4 chiclids and a a few larger tetras i also have a 405 fluval on my 120 to help with the messy eaters anything i am missing? i do know its overstocked but everything was in my 55 when i got it so haters pls i am doing my best to add more tanks i got all the fish from some dumbass who knoew nothing an tanks aint cheap to me but im doin my best an even my fish are thanking me lolany help would be greatly appreciated thanx

Overstocked and not enough filtration. And i didnt hear of a polishing pad in ur fx5! The pad will decrease gph so id advise of a good hob (ac110) for 90$ or another fx5 and divide filters between bio and mech filtration, that way u dont have to have 50lbs of carbon lol. U dont even need carbon and imo ur wasting space in ur canister, more bio ceramic material asap! Ur bio load is to big for one filter.
get another filter and add a polishing pad in the top tray of the fx5 and powerhead and ur problem is sloved my friend.

sorry not a fluval 405 on my 120 a 4 plus powerhead i think with a long cartridge with lotsa room
I would consider just removing the carbon and more bio filtration, im running a 90 gallon with a 50 gallon sump and all.i.have is mechanical and a ton of biological, and the water is crystal clear and always 0ppm on ammonia, with alot of cichlids.
