I'm looking for some FREE water hyacinth to put in my new 5,500 pond. If you have water hyacinth that are growing too rapidly and would like to get rid of, or would just like to help me out. Please give me some. I'm willing to drive 30mins-1 hour to pick them up.

Or if you know a place (delta / rivers) that have water hyacinth spreading, please let me know so i can go get some. I know there are a lot up in norcal but that's too far.

Give me a call or text at anytime!

Thank you!

Unfortunately, water hycinth is now illegal to import, possess, or sell in California. It's considered an invasive species that chokes out naturally occurring flora in CA waterways.

Hello; Yes the water hyacinth is a serious problem species. I wrote a thesis on the problem as a student in the 1970's about the water hyacinth in Florida. It is a very expensive to control and difficult, if not impossible, to eradicate invasive once established. If memory serves some that got away in Florida was from garden ponds in which people tended to keep exotics.
