I ordered some dwarf water lettuce (more on the way). Unfortunately, the seller didn't insulate it so some of the plants were partially frozen with mushy roots that fell off. Some of the leaves are healthy but with no roots. Will these be ok? The seller says they can survive 7-10 days and then improve.

The healthy leaves are in the bowl. None of them have roots.

Yeah, give them nitrates and a light source and they will bounce back no problem. They grow like wildfire in general, I threw away pounds of the stuff over the short time I've been in this hobby.

They sometimes drop roots and regrow when added to new tanks as well.

Dwarf water lettuce without roots can sometimes recover if kept in clean, dechlorinated water with moderate light and warm temperatures. Providing gentle water movement and mild nutrients may help encourage root regrowth. Monitor them over the next several days, as some may survive and start growing new roots.

I checked on the pieces in the tanks last night. So far, so good. I think one may be trying to sprout roots again. I've got more on the way if these don't work out.

Guys, this lettuce is THE BOMB. It's growing already and looks nice. I can't believe it! Might even be faster than the duckweed in growth! I've ordered more again as its pretty cheap on Ebay. Did some tank work today and put pieces in. More will def be going in the growout. Maybe some full sized in the 225? I don't know how big the regular size gets though.

There is no need to get regular size, you already have them. It is all the same plant, "dwarves" are just young and frequently culled to keep them small. If given enough nutrients and space, the ones you have will become full sized, so you can transfer them to the 225 once they get there.

As for what that size is, duanes has a great image for comparison.
