Finally found a name for my water monitor, it's now called Houdini. After it found a way to get out of it's enclosure, free roam for about a day and a half, and then get back into it's enclosure to wait for me by it's food dish at meal time. And it was definitely out, I broke down the entire set-up and pulled everything out (substrate included) looking for where it was hiding and it wasn't anywhere. I was so heartbroken, lol, I left the enclosure open and hoped I'd eventually see movement. Thankfully, I did... lil' monster came back looking for it's food. And it ate a huge meal, guess it expended a lot of energy doing whatever it was doing while it was free, haha.

Anyway, here's some new photos of Houdini:

I love the lil' thing, it's got the most personality out of any of my scaley pets.

Edit: Well, the Hognose might beat it out... but that's more like amusement from it's constant "I'M A BIG ANGRY SNAKE EVEN THOUGH I'M ONLY 12" LONG! HISSSSSSSS!!" than an actual personality lol

thats awesome! how big is his enclosure?

Currently, it's a 3x4x2 enclosure. Hopefully, I'll get more than a couple months out of that while I work on building something large enough to house it in it's adult size. Not quite sure design wise what I want to do yet, I need to hurry up on that.

very cool have wanted one for yrs. how's his temperment? ive got a 2 yr old son so i think i should wait till he gets a lil bigger

Absolutely the sweetest reptile I have, and truthfully it's a little sweeter than my cat sometimes haha. It's perfectly content to be handled, petted, moved around... never hisses, tail whips, bites, etc. Anything that is smaller than it, however, it's the most vicious animal I own. Rips apart anything that moves. I'm trying to get it off live foods to see if this will tone down, it's just starting to accept some strong smelling prepared foods but still likes it's feeders best. But outside of feeding time, really cool and docile animal.
