First of all, i apologize if this is a dumb question. I am new to aros and the proper methods of caring for them. I did read the stickies on these guys but i still have some questions.
Are the water parameters extremely important for these fish? Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate lvls etc..
If they are important, then what are the proper levels.

Thanks for the help.

base on my experiment my tap water is fine no treatment needed, but would be good to treat it for insurance.
keeping arowana is just like keeping any other tropical fish no special care or things like that except they do get bigger so everything needs to compasate that size

Yes, Parameters are very important ! Arowana is very sensitive fish for bad quality water.

Keep Ammonia and Nitrite NO2 - 0ppm, and Nitrate NO3 below 30-40ppm. PH must be stable - 6.5-7 is perfect.

It's depend of what tap water you have in your place. In most cases using tap water (for water changes) is safe if you add water conditioner - "Prime" is what most people are using. Good is to test your tap water to make sure is OK, or ask neighbors who have aquariums.

GL !

Arowana like more soft water but also tolerate water with reasonable hardness. In my opinion is not that important like NO3 level etc.
