Hi all, I'm a bit confused about raising fresh water plants in general. Right now, I have a 33gal tank..it is the size(LxWxH) of a 55gal but half the height. Now, I love to raise Java moss, ferns and Anubius nana. From what I was told, they require low lighting and can thrive on almost any water conditons, but prefer acidic? I tried and failed to many times!!! Now, I bought this Trichromatic bulb(4ft) and used my 33gal as a plant tank..they are thriving..very lush greens!!! The confusing part, not only is the light helping but the Ph is very basic. I don't understand? I want to be able raise my Big fishes with planted drift woods but the water parameters are just to accidic. Not to mention, the tank that I want to do this in is a 125gal established tank. It is very acidic....Any suggestion?
