I have a tank with only guppies that I have had setup for two weeks with now 8 guppies. I tested the water and the water hardness is very soft but the ph is alkaline at 8.4 which is the highest the strip will read so it could even be a higher ph. My question is since I have guppies I know the water is suppose to be medium hard to hard so what can I do to make the water harder without raising the ph?
Also how who aquarium salt change the results because I bought some but have not added any yet.
Thanks

at this point do not worry about water hardness ph./ your tank has to finish cycling.i would suggest you do a serch on here for cycling a tank.great info that will help you thru it.takes 4-6 weeks.ive used a product called biospera and cycled mine in 2weeks.aslo would suggest you get ammonia test and nitrite test kits the drops kind.
they are the 2 things you need to watch. and when they read high you need to do a water change.
