I've been hearing alot of different things lately depending on dissolving salt times and general water properties. Can anyone let me know, firstly how long you have to wait for salt to dissolve before adding? Secondly do pH levels have any correlation with specific gravity and if I should worry? Lastly why is my water so cloudy that I can't even see 1 inch past the sand bed?

When you mix salt, I would recommend getting a powerhead to put in there. This will speed up the process. As for how long you will get a LOT of different answers, but most people recommend at least 8 hours. (I mix mine overnight and well into the next day). Is the sand in your tank very fine? and did you just start up this tank?
