Water pump/powerhead concern

I recently bought a RIO Hyper Flow 10. And I ran it on water, then I left it to dry and am not planning to use it for a couple of weeks. My concern is, will it get broken or damage when I rarely use it (only when transfering aged water from rubbermaid to fish tank during water change.) then leaave it to dry for a week then use it again for water change?



also, m rio hf10 does a 660gph, any way i can reduce the gph?

I am not familiar with them. But if it is a pump then letting it sit will not hurt it at all.
