Hi guys how do i calculate the pump that i need for a 200gal tank and a 50 gal sump any recommendations?

The average recommended turn-over is 5 times, so a minimum 1000 GPH pump would seem appropriate depending on type of fish.
Swamp or oxbow dwellers could probably handle less flow (species like discus, angels, some anabantoids a 500gph might suffice.
Species from fast flowing rivers, counter current zone, more (species like African Tiger fish, rheophillic cichlids, like Tomocichla, Chuco, maskaheros) might prefer triple the flow)

Depends on overflow/drain configuration, head height, desired flow rate... start looking at pumps rated for at least 2000 gph at 0' head.

Jebao DCP series pumps are a favorite around here. Cost efficient, relatively quiet and powerful, easily controllable.
