I was wondering if anyone had any submersible return water pump recommendations for my DIY wet/dry. I am looking for something quiet. I have 3 - 1" overflows which will be depositing water into the W/D from a 210 gal tank.

Ideally, the pump should have the ability to connect to 1" pvc and will need to pump water for a distance of about 30-36".

Any suggestions and recommendations greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I'm using 2 quiet one 4000 model pumps on my 300 and I couldnt be any more happy. They are very quiet. I can't even hear them over my Little Giant..... IMO they're the best bang for the buck

That's what he recommended to me as well and I am glad that I listened to him. :D

Looks like there is a consensus on your recommendation. :) I appreciate everyone's input and will put in an order for that pump tonight. I did a little research on the pump before, but the testimonials on this thread from my fellow MFKers definitely have me sold :D

Thanks again!

I forgot to ask - is there a significant difference btw the QuietOne models that are packaged for used for the pond vs. the aquarium?

Yes, the ones for ponds typically have a different impeller. Pond pumps don't have to pump up out of the water (usually), but aquariums do. The difference is evident in the pump's performance curves. Check the charts to make sure you will get the flow you need at the tanks height.

quiet one pumps are great and so are mag drives...
