Water Quality Test Kits

"Accuracy" is debatable, but most people are tracking trends anyway. It's more important to be consistent, and ease of use is a big component of consistency with water testing kits.

Liquid reagents are always better than strips. The way the Seachem test detects ammonia is the most sensible IMHO because it measures free ammonia AT THE pH OF YOUR TANK WATER - other test kits first adjust your pH to >8 before testing. I think API tests are the most commonly available and they do a fine job, the instructions are easy to follow, and color changes are clear enough to be easily detectable.

The best IMO are Red Sea kits for plant tanks, and salifert and La Motte for general use.
