I'm moving from one city to another and the new house has a water softener. I know it uses salt to soften (duh) just not sure how it will affect my aquariums since they are all fresh water and the water conditioner I use.

OMG $&!*!&#%$........ I hate reading and trying to fix mistakes.like.this.it.gets.troublesome lol

Should be fine, my house has a water softener and thus really soft water, dont know the exact number, but all my fish are fine and happy.

unless your fish absolutly have to have hard water to live in you should be fine. water softeners use salt to do just that, soften water. then the salt/water mix gets rinsed down the drain. think about it. have you ever stayed in a hotel? Or a house of a friend/relative that has a water softener? the water doesnt taste salty right? the shower didnt rain down saltwater? you should be fine
