I was gone for a weekend, forgot to turn off the light to the tank, and came back to an algae bloom. I did the water test and came back with Nitrite at 0.5 ppm, Nitrate at 10 ppm, and 0 Ammonia.

Am I looking at a mini cycle? Should I keep testing and do a water change when Nitrites are at 0 and Nitrates take a dip? Any help is greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance.

see no reason for a mini cycle, did you over feed when you came home? or before you left?

I didn't overfeed, though I did pick up a few more feeders than I normally would have, as I spent the weekend away. Did I just exceed the bio-load with the extra feeders?

I would be of a mind to say yes, protein in, protein out. think just do the water change and go back to schedule you had and all should be good.
