I have 170g freshwater tank. Change 80% every 7-10 days. This is small compared to other hobbyist with hundreds of gallons, and on drip systems. What are we all going to do if it becomes mandatory to conserve water in our state of CA?

Use pothos or other plants to help with nitrates!!

I don't live in California, but that is what I would (and will) use to help ration water, even if it isn't mandatory. It helps cut down on the water bill.

take shorter showers, turn lawns into turf, take leaks outside behind some trees, then it'll all add up

Don't flush. Save the water for the tank.

Do away with toilets and use outhouses instead, collect rainwater.

I've been thinking about possible ramifications of the drought this week too, conditions look rather alarming.

California is in a world of hurt with the water situation the past few years. Unless a miracle happens in the next several weeks, this summer is going to be a disaster.
