Will this water softener Pillow be safe for my L183 i am getting?

It says under contents: 1 pillow containing 7oz.(200g) styrene D.V.B. ion exchange resin.

It softens water by lowering calcium and magnesium levels(GH)

It will remove 220ppm in my 29(most likely less than that because i accidently got it wet!)

By the way i dont kno the hardness of the water! Does anyone know the hardness of telford, souderton, lansdale area?

Please Help!:D

These will not hurt your fish. The only way to tell how hard your water is, is to test it. Get a KH and GH test kits to determine this, or take a sample into your LFS.

would testing equipment at plumbing companies work? i hope it does because then i can over to my dad's house and ask him to test it where he works!

I'm in your area also, Hatfield. We don't have extremely hard water but it is on the harder side. I tested it with a test kit from the LFS and I can't remember what the numbers were, but they are kinda high. I have a few discus and the hard water has really become a pain to deal with and keep my discus healthy. I was looking into these pillows also but could never find any.

Did you find them at Fins Feathers Paws & Claws?

quakertown farmers market had a lot of them! but i got mine at pet supplies by the home depot and staples in souderton!

fins feather paws and claws might have some i dont kno! they do have a pretty ok selection for medicines and things of his nature! i might go to fins feather tonight i'll tell you if they have any!

sounds good
i might have to get some cause are water is extremely hard.

when we shower and air dry we turn grey because of mineral deposits.
