I am moving into a house that has a water softener and right now the water I use is pretty hard. All of my SA cichlids were raised in hard water. Is there a way to switch to soft water. I know they like soft over hard. Should I bypass the softener and stay hard or what. I also have some SA catfish too. thanks

we just had a water softener put in the house a few month ago. i did a 50% water change after it was set up and it made no diff at all.
not saying this is the correct way to do it but i did not have a problem.
