I am going to be starting a new discus setup in the near future. I will be storing water in a storage tank to get it at all of the right parameters before pumping it in at water changes. Will i have to worry about bacterial or algal growth in the tank and if so how to prevent it.

I currently have only a heater and a bubbler in it because I was told that was all I needed.

Why not just pump your R/O, and get it in temp. perimeters on the day of... shouldn't really have to store it imho. Doesn't take too long get it right. But to answer you question. Any water in direct sunlight or exposed to too much light will have algae issues. Bubbler is only really good for adding oxygen to the water by breaking the surface.. if your just storing it shouldn't need it unless your just keeping it from becoming stagnant.. which would talk a while..

Ok I got it now I relize I don't have to worry about that because the water wont be in my storage tank that long any way.
