water temp for baby dat?

hey guys i just bought a baby dat (about 2-3 inches) and i just have him in a 3 gallon quarantine tank before i put him in my 55. just wondering what the temp should be in there. its at 75 right now and its usually between that and 72 but hes not looking very happy and wont eat (ive had him for 4 days). i know they arent supposed to eat right away but i just wanna make sure its not because the tank is too cold.

so it would be awesome if someone could help me out, thanks.

Dude hes in a 3gallon tank....would you be happy enough to eat if you were in one? Probably not...Its most likely stressed in that tank and wont eat.

72 - 75 is way too cold! Bump it up to 82 at a minimum!

ya i know i know its just that i had to put my another fish in my 20 gallon quarantine after i got him. im really considering putting him in the 55 but he apparently had ick a couple days before i got him so i just debating wether i should risk it.

Understand though, regarding the itch being present. U make do with what u got i suppose.

Even if you went out and bought a 60 L tank just for him, that would be much better as temporary.

Temp: Anywhere from 79 - 84 should be fine.

well i ended up putting him in a friend of mines 30 gal with an oscar and jack dempsey and he was doing fine but now he has velvet! we have been treating him with copper medicine but he is looking pretty hurtin right now. Its so frustrating as it took me about 4 months to find one so i really hope he makes it.
