I have a problem iv been told that my tank needs to be around 77-79 degrees well even without a heater in the tank i cant keep it below 84 degrees any advice is appreciated.

please note i am trying to breed convicts so thats why iv been told 77-79 degrees

84deg is not that bad. What size tank is it and do you keep your lids open or shut??
Keeping my lids open keeps my tank 2-3deg's cooler.

Probably should have posted this in the breeding section though.

well im not as conserned about the bredding as i am the health of my fish i normally keep the lid open which hasnt seemed to help it is a 20 gallon tank.

so my fish will be ok with the temp being up that high?

when i bred convicts i boosted the water temp up. it was a good idea cuz they bred like crazy after that.

note: they probably still would of if the temp remained at 80F

anyways u can reduce the temperature by closing all curtains and turning off the aquarium light...

if that doesn't work - move the tank

if that doesn't work buy an air conditioner...

if that doesn't work buy a chiller....

if that doesn't work come here and slap me across the face..

i do have an air stone and i have splash from my hob
thank you everyone!!! :)
