i have a angel tank a 55 which originally started with 6 angels i read that if you raise the temp of the tank to 85iish theres less chance of my fish catching ick and things like these so i did that and my fish got like a jump start much more active but now f2 fish died of an attack and now my 2 bigger 1s are fightin although 1 has completely lost its tail should i just buy like 5 more to make it even again for them not to get picked on or just try lowering temp?

and also if any 1 can because im new to this how do i keep track of my posts is there a home button or something?

Hey there,

I've never kept angels so i wont be able to help you with the stocking of your tank. As far as temperature is concerned i generally keep my cichlid tanks in the range of 78-82. 85 seams a little high to me if your fish arent sick. Keep in mind that as the temperature increases the fish will become more active and their metabolism speeds up. This might be why there is so much aggression in your tank. If your fish are not sick with ick then i don't i dont see a reason to raise the temp that high. I've always treated ick with high temp and salt treatment, but after treatment my tank temp returns to 78.

I would try turning the temp down gradually and watch the fins for any sign of infection, maybe try adding some melafix to help with the healing process.

I'm new as well but what i do to review my previous posts is click on "quick links" at the top of the page and then click my posts or threads.
