water treatment for crayfish

ive read they like hard water, but is it nessisary to boil water and add more until the water gets hard, or is there something i can stick in the tank.
or should i just not worry about it?



side note: any reason why my cf avoids the caves i made for it?

How hard is your tap water? You may want to add calcium supplements to aid in your crayfishes shell development.

Get your water tested and see where its at, mine ph is about 7 and my crayfish are fine.
