75 gallon tank, two weeks old. Two HOB filters ac70 and ac110. ac 70 was brought over from an established tank and media was kept. 110 was put on about week and a half ago. water has been a bit cloudy there is a fairly large piece of driftwood in there that was soaked and scrubbed before being put in.

ph is stable at 7.5 for two weeks. ammonia, nitrates and nitrites have been at 0 for last 2 weeks. Check levels tonight ammonia up to 0.25 and nitrates at 5. nirtrites still at 0. Not really sure whats going on, am I stuck in a cycle or not fully cycled yet? whats my options, just waterchanges or what. any help is appreciated.

stock is as follows.

6in red sev. 4 in uaru 2 4in geos 2.5 in sev and 5in pbass (being relocated)

ok so i think i might have figured it out, tell me if this makes sense. From what i was reading my tank was near the end of the cycling process and the bioload was a bit to much for the un finished cycle which is why im seeing the ammonia increase and the nitrate rise. Anyone have any idea how much longer the cycle process might take and what can i do lower the ammonia in the short term??

make a 50% water change. i always use filters from established tanks and dont face any problems. have you made any water changes at all since the past 2 weeks?

I did id say about a 25-30% change last weekend. I just dont want to screww the cycle up but I dont want to harm my fish either.

Water change, it takes up to a month and a half to cycle a tank, sometimes less, it depends. Also, feed a little more lightly until you see the ammonia level drop to 0.
