In one of my tanks i recently added a driftwood stump and it has slowly been turning the water brown for about 5 days now and i was wondering when it will clear up?

When ever all the tannin is out of the wood could take day months or years. Add carbon to you filter will help keep the water clear. Also if you take the wood out and boil it for a few hours it will get most of the tannin out.

if you can boil it,do it a couple times.like erk419 said, add carbon.you could probably do a water change while youre boiling too.if its too big to boil, fill your bathtub with the hottest water you can and let it soak, and change the water when it gets really brown

alright thanks I'll try the bathtub idea

Bath tub with hottest water takes awhile easiest way if u cant boil it is get a big enough bucket to put it in then boil the water pour into bucket and put a lid on change water every 6 hours, and as said before carbon is a nice way to remove the tannins
