hey guys new to mfk and i am planning on building my first indoor pond. my plan so far is 15'x10'x3' but only filling to about 2.5'. my question is what is an acceptable turnover rate in a pond this size? i am planning on stocking it with 2 florida gar, 1 long nose gar, 1 arowanna and 3 peacock bass anyone see any problems here?

3x-4x turnover, since there are dirty eaters.

Pbass may be a little too feisty depending on everyones size.

Dr Joe

.

it is kind of hard to explain the way i am going to do it but i am planning on using 6 55 gallon rubber made garbage cans as my filters.

With Koi i was always told you should turn over your pond’s volume every two hours so Dr. Joe is about right i would not go below this with that stocking. I have made loads of trickle filter in the past some of the big ones have worked very well.

well i was planning around 5x per hour so would that be a little over kill? do you guys think this is to many fish or could i add more?

As far as I’m concerned on a pond you can't over filter it but you can under filter it (obviously if you end up with a whirl pool or Jacuzzi you might have gone a little to far):D
