SOOOO.....

Went to do a routine water change tonight. Had the python hooked up to the sink but I was lazy and did not take out the one dish in the sink. Was playing around in the tank and the tv was on loud with the lil one's tv show as he was dancing around.

I was using my cleansweep and went out to empty the mesh bag when I heard it. The sound of water hitting the floor. It was all over my kitchen so I grabed some towels to start cleaning it and got the sink draining. Little did I know that the 40-50 gallons I had drained had mainly hit the floor. I went downstairs to the basement to get more towels when I found the other 30 some odd gallons on the cement floor there.

30 minutes or so later with the shop vac and I got it up. Fans drying it now and tomorrow will be grabbing some moisture absorbers to throw downstairs to grab the moisture and get the smell out of the air. Water also came down through the pipes access between the floors mainly so subfloor looks fine thankfully. I just hope my pergo floor does not warp at all in the kitchen.

Ugh just one of those nights. This sucks...My god son sure thought it was hilarious though as I was freaking out.

That sucks. :/ I've had pretty bad water spills, but nothing this bad. Hope everything turns out okay. :)

****ty deal, its always one of those things tho...its just one dish how bad could it be!!

I really want to get one of those water alert things!

Oh no, that's terrible. I hope no damage is done to your kitchen floor.

wow, you just made me feel a lot better. last week I was doing a wc with the python. I usually suck up sand so I put a bucket in the sink. did'nt notice a cover from a plastic container. it got sucked over the drain. I heard something funny from the laundry room and sure enough water overflowing all over. thanks, now I know there are two of us dummies who will forevermore check thier sink. lol

Well everything is dried now. Kitchen floor seems to be fine thankfully. The basement has the typical smell after flooding so I am runnin out to Home Depot for the moisture suck up things and some fabreeze...
