having problems with my water can anyone help? it turned a real light shade of orange after putting in live plants

Howdy j_a_c_1972, and welcome to MFK,

I'd just wait a few days or a couple of water changes. If they were rooted plants and came in a pot, you may have left some of the substrate on the roots and it got stirred up in the water. Or dirt from your substrate got stirred up. Keep us posted, and we'll trouybleshoot if it's a permanent effect. For now, I wouldn't worry.

Do you have any driftwood in the tank?

you might have stirred up the subtrate, if you see it as unsightly just do some water change hope that would help lessen the coloration of the water
