i was wondering when you feed your piranhas goldfish..
and the scales come off
what happens to them
they just sit at the bottom?
because im sure it messes up your water quite a bit
and also what could i feed my piranhas thats bigger with not alot of scales
thats also live??

Your going to get hit for live feeding gold fish. (don't worry I do it too lol) the scales just get sucked into the filers and b/c I only feed live one day before my weekly big water change and filter cleaning I don't worry to much about them. As for bigger things to feed then that is live. That's a toss up are you wanting something to feed them all the time or just once in awhile to show the friends? either way Ps are just messy eaters and you are more then likly allways going to have a mess when they are done. as long as no pieces stay in the tank that are more then scales I wouldn't worry as long as you plan a tank cleanning soon after.

Good luck sry if that didn't help that much

use a bigger filer to get rid of all the dead scales.

AND NO FEEDERS.....unless you QT them for a month.

rosey reds only
not even rosey reds.....QT all fish you feed your fish.

is quiet time the same as time out... becuase i dont think its right to give a goldfish timeout just to later feed it to a piranha...

feeding crappie minnows/fatheads is not as messy as GF.. im pretty sure its becuase the scales are smaller and the piranhas usually eat them in one or two bites..

ya
goldfish can be pretty nasty
but when i went on vacation normally
i feed my p's live fish
i just threw im in the tank when i left
mabey like3 dozen or so
and did a water change when i left
but i feed my p's pelets before so they would be stuffed
