Waterdragon eats his turds

my big male green waterdragon (bruce) just ate his own freakin crap. i pot him in the tub to get some swimming in and he turds in the water(very usual for bruce). the turd floats up next to him and he eats it like a big bug or somthing. he seemed to swallow it down too. should i be worried? any body else ever hear of this?

youve got nothing to worry about.

some animals eat there own crap when they dont have the right amount of nutrition (or any beneficiary from food) and eat to digest it again to gain more of whatever. this sounds like an isolated case though, and i can imagine that in the water it may have got confused...

i think he thought it was a bug........he gets a varied diet and calcium suppliments

Have you had him checked for parasites?
They won't cause this behavior, but eating feces may cause an increase in an already manageable parasite load.

NO.........i need to get him too a vet.
