Hey guys planning out my 240 gallon plywood tank and was wondering about what to use to rubberize it, i was gonna use pond Armour but that would be way to expensive and liquid rubber from what ive read doesn't still well to silicone, ive read about redgard and thought about applying this letting it dry they spraying the inside with kylon fusion cause redgaurd dries pink would that work? or are there any other cheaper alternatives? BTW redgard is about $50 for a gallon

What are you bumping for? You're thread(s) are already at the top lol

Buy a used tank. If you look allot you will find one or two or three in no time.

Hey thanks for the response!

ive been looking on craigslist for over 7 months and the best i found was a 180 for $500 with filtration and stand, and i realized i could make a bigger tank with less than that money considering i can get all the wood for free and possibly the glass i would just need to buy redgard, silicone and a few other misc. items

I don't mean to be a bummer, but I had the same vision of this big tank for cheap, but let me tell you the cost escalates quickly. After finishing and stocking my tank, it cost a little over $600, and don't forget the endless supply of food you need for those monsters! Not saying it isn't doable, just keep in mind the cost of things. If you have the funds to build the tank though, go for it. No better feeling then the sense of accomplishment you get after looking at your tank
