i was just wondering what is the best stuff for waterproofing plain old mexican pottery clay. i just have a whole bag of the stuff and i thought maybe i could make some decorations for my fishtank with it. i totally understand that it's not waterproof, so what's the best stuff? or rather, what will get the job done without being too expensive? :D

i dont think you really need to seal it. just rinse really good and allow to soak underwater for a day or so. no need to seal.

:iagree:

All clay is hardened with heat i believe.. Should stay just fine with out waterproofing :)

I don't think you shoulduse it if it is labeled as not waterproof, first try some on a bucket of water for a week or so to see if it crumbles. Dipping in melted parrafin might work.

I would just use regular cement sealer.

ah yes, which is why i wondered if there was any glaze or something that could be used to waterproof clay. :) but cement sealer doesn't sound too bad, i might try that. thanks chad.
